Intention Statement

There are so many things that I hope to learn and achieve throughout my “Mastery Journey” over this next year. I intend to continue learning how to be more healthy in mind, body, and spirit.

According to Robert Greene, mastery is defined as “the feeling that we have a greater command of reality, other people, and ourselves.” (Greene, 2012 p. 2)

He follows that up by saying that it becomes their way of life, and that it needs to stem from a primal inclination coming from somewhere deeper.

Early in life, I was one of the quiet, nerdy kids in school who didn’t have a lot of friends and didn’t really know how to talk to people. I’d get picked on relentlessly. This led me to some dark places later in life when I would try to fit in with a crowd socially. Long story short, I started abusing substances and wound up getting myself into some legal trouble and had to move back to my parents’ house.
It wasn’t until I spent a couple of months in treatment, and through attendance at various 12-step recovery meetings, that I also found my own voice, and a place where I really fit in and could be myself and talk to anyone.  Had I not returned to my origins; I probably would not be here today.

Besides the knowledge that I will receive over the next 12 months at Full Sail University, I expect to learn so much more about myself while pursuing this Masters degree of Entertainment Business.

Let’s build something together.
